2. Website Operation and Server Log Data

When you access our website, the web server processes technically necessary data transmitted by your browser. This may include, in particular:

• the IP address of the accessing device,
• the date and time of access,
• the page or file requested,
• the volume of data transferred,
• the previously visited page, where transmitted by the browser,
• the browser type and version,
• the operating system, and
• information on the status of the request.

We process these data to provide the website, ensure its stability and security, and detect and address technical faults or abusive access. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of our website.

According to our hosting provider, access logs containing truncated IP addresses are retained for 60 days; any logged usernames used for directory access protection are anonymised after one day. Error logs, which may also contain the full IP address, are deleted after seven days.

3. Contacting Us

You can contact us using the contact form, by email or by telephone. We process the contact details you provide, the content of your enquiry, and the communication data and metadata generated when handling it.

If you contact us to enter into or perform a contract and are yourself a party to that contract, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Enquiries from employees or other contact persons of a company are processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to handle business enquiries and communicate with customers, prospective customers, suppliers and other business partners.

The contact form requires your name, email address and message so that we can identify and respond to your enquiry. Providing a telephone number and subject is optional. Without the required information, we cannot process your enquiry through the form.

Within our company, only those persons who need the data to handle the enquiry have access to them.

We also use Mittwald, the provider named in section 2, to operate our email mailboxes. Mittwald processes emails and the associated transmission data. According to the provider, mail server logs are deleted after four weeks. Logs of emails sent from the web environment have sender and recipient data removed after one day and are then retained for 60 days. This serves the secure operation of email services and spam prevention on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The criteria below apply to the storage of the messages themselves.

We store personal data relating to enquiries and business relationships for as long as necessary to handle those enquiries and conduct those relationships. Documents subject to statutory retention requirements are stored for the legally prescribed period on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. We also retain documents where necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims; the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, and our legitimate interest is to protect our legal position. We delete the data once the respective storage purposes no longer apply and no retention requirements remain.

To protect against spam and abuse, we check form inputs, limit the frequency of requests and log the time, event type and a pseudonymised origin identifier. Contact details and message content are not recorded in this log. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure operation of the contact form. Auxiliary anti-spam data are discarded after one hour. The log data are manually deleted every seven days.

4. Storage of Your Display Preference

When you switch between light and dark mode on the website, your selection is stored under the key tz-thema in your browser’s local storage. This allows your selected display mode to be used again on a subsequent visit.

The preference is stored exclusively in your browser and, under the current technical configuration, is not transmitted to us. Access is necessary to provide the display mode you have expressly selected. It therefore takes place on the basis of section 25(2), point 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG). You can change the preference using the display mode switch or remove it by clearing the website data in your browser.

5. Other Recipients

Our hosting and email provider uses additional processors for the secure destruction of data storage media.

6. Your Rights

Where the statutory conditions are met, you have, in particular, the right to:

• request access to the personal data we process about you,
• have inaccurate data rectified and incomplete data completed,
• request the erasure of your personal data,
• request restriction of processing,
• receive the data concerning you that you have provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, where the right to data portability applies.

Your Right to Object

You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR. This also applies to profiling based on those provisions. Please send your objection to info@terz-ie.com.

Following an objection, we will continue to process the data concerned only if we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Withdrawal of Consent

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
